Archaic Sun - experimental music project
[Image: herald2.jpg]

hey folks for the past 2 and a half years I"ve been trying to teach myself how to play music (basically since the transit of venus 2012).
about 6 months ago i started creating and recording music under the name "Archaic Sun".
Archaic Sun is a creative outlet for my interests in Esoteric Christianity, Gnosticism, Mysticism, Pagan Mythologies, Philosophy, History and the decline and fall of Civilizations as well as my own personal thoughts and feelings.
at the moment i am using an electric-acoustic guitar, a casio keyboard, a microphone, a sampling pad, 2 loop pedals, a korg kaospad and a ton of effects pedals.
So far Archaic Sun has been an ecletic/experimental mishmash drawing influences from post-punk, black metal, neofolk, synth-pop, post-rock, shoegaze, industrial, trip-hop and more.

this is a link to my youtube channel:

my blog:

and my band Facebook page:

i hope you like it!

i've also released 2 free compilation albums of various Demos and jam sessions that i've recorded.
the first is Via Aurora Luna

and the second is Angelic Impressions

my future releases will probably crystalize into a more homogenized Post-Rock/Trip-Hop/Post-Industrial (while still drawing influences from a million other places) sound rather than the random mish-mash of tracks on my previous albums.
lol but time will tell.

hope you all dig it!

RE: Archaic Sun - experimental music project
I quite like the various tunes - my only thought is that some of the over notes are a bit overpowering. I love the back beat and the ambiance, a few time the more 'space sounds' or static type noise tossed me out of a very groovy headspace --- but I can see it going somewhere.
And kudos to you for getting out there and creating this! Awesome! Im gonna follow your blog Big Grin

@Sr.ShiloMichelle
thanks very much! yeah these 2 compilation albums are made up of demo's and Jam sessions so there are lots of mistakes all over the place, in fact half of the tracks (and many of my favorites) were things i pulled out of thin air and will never be able to do again (just lucky i recorded them).
it will probably be a while before i release anything else as i want practice and refine my music and be able write and record tracks with few mistakes and be able to reproduce these track/songs in a live setting.
so hopefully by the time i release anything else it will be a much more enjoyable experience. Smile
thanks!
