I'm Tara. I have been studying and incorporating gnosticism into my spiritual practice for several years now. Though the last year or so I've been lax in interest, I have recently experienced a surge of energy that brings me firmly back to the beauty of the gnostic framework.
I hope to learn much, and contribute where I can!

Hello,
My name is Brian, and have just recently found myself on this path. It all begin with all I can describe as a brief but profound flash of insight late of last year, followed by a series of synchronistic events and coincidences that really opened up the inward journey for me.....if that makes sense. I could get into detail in describing the spiritual experiences I have had, if I could begin to express them into words, but somehow over the past few days came across some gnostic texts, when I previously had no knowledge of anything Gnostic. The little bit that I read resonated very much with me, so I look forward to meeting all of you and having the opportunity to learn more.

Hi,

I'm Nick, or SonofSethoitae. Taken of course from the Sethians, with whom I identify most closely. I got into Gnosticism in mid highschool, when a stint with Paganism lead me to the more esoteric paths. I'm still young, and Canadian, which makes practice of Gnosticism a little harder, but not impossible. I was hoping to connect with other like-minded and open-minded folks to bounce ideas off of and such, share practices, techniques, etc. All that stuff us Gnostics do when we get together (which, from the Church Fathers' reports, sounds like a hell of a time ).

Peace,

What sort of community formulated Gospel of Thomas initially? I often think about this, and I really get a feel of early Jewish Mysticism. It certainly went on to be one of the key points in Eastern churches. References to the 'light' (saying 50) 'We have come from the light, from the place where the light came into being by itself, established [itself], and appeared in their image.' seem very Lurianic in nature - obviously way before his time, but it has such a unique different flavour, it always gets me thinking.

I am open to all suggestions and beliefs, and anticipate many useful and uplifting discussions.

Greetings Group:
I'm a new member of this group, but I've been studying gnostic themes for the better part of 25 years. I am a history teacher at a large community college in the Charlotte NC region, 44 years old. I have been trying to pull together a gnotic or neo-gnostic perspective for over 15 years now, but have done almost all of my research on my own. I've been involve with buddhism here in the Charlotte area, but our city has no gnostic groups. Right now, I do not think I'm even looking for a group, but I may start a Meet-Up here in Charlotte sometime. I have almost completed writing my first full length novel, its fiction. Set in a fast paced DaVinci Code like setting, but with Gnostic themes. Hope to find a publisher for this sometime next year. Any help from any of you guys who have published in Gnostic religious fiction would be greatly and sincerely appreciated. Thanks.

I just wanted to take this time to say hello and to introduce myself.

My name is David. I have had an interesting journey in my spiritual life.

I do not mind sharing this with you if there is an interest but let me tell you where I am today and why I am here.

I am currently in my second year of study for the priesthood in the Roman Catholic Church.

In some of my current classes there has been some discussion of Gnostics and Gnosticism but I get the feeling that something is missing.

I try to keep and open mind. The teachings I have gotten on Gnosticism so far have been from Roman Catholic priests who are my professors. So I am sure that there may be a bias there and maybe a bit of misunderstanding/misinformation.

So I thought it would be best to get it "straight from the horse's mouth" as they say.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
